Welcome to Runnymede Long-Term Care

Overview

Runnymede Long-Term Care is a new 200-bed facility proudly serving the Parkdale-High Park area in Toronto. It is the newest addition to the Runnymede Healthcare Centre which has been a part of the neighbourhood for 80 years.

We are committed to the highest standards of quality for physical, cultural, social, emotional, and spiritual support. We achieve this through partnership with residents/families, employees, physicians, volunteers, and community agencies. As you step into Runnymede Long-Term Care, your initial impression will be that it differs from traditional long-term care facilities. Our secure and temperature-controlled building allows all residents to move about freely. To ensure safety, entrance doors, our courtyards and service areas all have controlled access with codes provided upon request.

We strive to provide supportive and rehabilitative care in a comfortable environment that meets the needs of the community we serve. We specialize in long-term care for a primarily older adult population with diverse health and functional needs.

The engagement of families is a vital component of our care philosophy and we provide resources, guidance, and support for our family members.

Maltese-Inspired Living

Our long-term care home celebrates Maltese heritage with a dedicated Maltese-designated floor and cultural experiences woven throughout the home. Residents can enjoy traditional Maltese cuisine, engaging activities such as festa celebrations and crafts, and a welcoming environment that reflects the warmth of Maltese culture. Our community embraces the language, faith, and traditions that bring comfort and familiarity to residents, including Catholic mass and special holiday meals. With a strong connection to the Maltese community, we create a home where culture, care, and community come together to enrich daily life.
